What is IIT JEE 2023?

The JEE 2023 is a national-level engineering entrance conducted by the National Testing Authority. JEE aspirants will get all the necessary information for JEE 2023 on this page. The JEE Main 2023 syllabus is out and it is mostly the same as the JEE 2022 syllabus. The NTA released the JEE Main application form on 15th December 2022 for session 1. Students should check the JEE Main 2023 eligibility criteria before submitting their application for JEE Mains 2023. As per the official notification released by NTA, JEE Main 2023 will be held in January and April 2023. Candidates who cleared JEE Main 2023 will be eligible for JEE Advanced 2023.

JEE Main 2023: 5 major changes

  • 75% criteria – As per the JEE Main 2023 Information Bulletin, Admission to B.E. / B.Tech / B.Arch / B.Planning. Courses in NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs participating through Central Seat Allocation Board will be based on All India Rank subject to the condition that the candidate should have secured at least 75% marks in the Class 12 examination conducted by the respective Boards. For SC/ST candidates the qualifying marks would be 65% in the Class 12/qualifying examination. The candidate is also required to pass in each of the subjects of Class 12 / qualifying examination.
  • Number of exam cities decreased – The number of JEE Main 2023 exam cities has been decreased to 399 in India as compared to 514 exam cities last year. However, the number of exam cities abroad has increased to 24 compared to 13 cities last year.
  • Increase in JEE Main 2023 registration fees – The NTA has increased the registration fees for male candidates from Rs 650 to Rs 1,000, while female candidates have to pay Rs 800. Earlier, SC, ST, PwD, transgender had to pay Rs 325 only, however, now SC, ST, PwD and Third Gender candidates have to pay Rs 500 to appear for BE, BTech, BArch and BPlanning papers.
  • JEE Main 2023 application fee for candidates outside India has also been increased. Male candidates appearing for the exam will have to pay Rs 5,000 while female candidates have to pay Rs 4,000. Earlier, the fees for applicants outside India was Rs 3,000 and Rs 1,500 for male and female candidates respectively.
  • Mandatory parents details – While filling the JEE Main application form 2023, students have to now add parent’s or guardian’s email address and mobile number. Earlier, it was not mandatory, now students will have to furnish the details to successfully complete the JEE Main registration.
  • One application – Students applying for the JEE Mains exam 2023 will be able to apply for only one session at a time. According to the NTA JEE exam dates notification 2023, “In the first session of JEE (Main) – 2023, only Session 1 will be visible and candidates can opt for that. In the next session, Session 2 will be visible, and the candidates can opt for that Session.”

Candidates will not be allowed to fill more than one application form. “Strict action will be taken, even at a later stage, against such candidates who have filled more than one application form,” the NTA said.

To fill the JEE Main 2023 application form, candidates will have to follow the below given steps.

  • Register by providing basic details like name, email address, mobile number etc.
  • Now, login using the valid credentials and fill out the JEE Mains application form 2023.
  • Upload relevant documents as per specifications

JEE Main Admit Card 2023

NTA will issue the JEE Main admit card 2023 at jeemain.nta.nic.in. Applicants will be able to download JEE Main admit card 2023 in online mode. To check the admit card of JEE Main 2023, applicants will have to use their application number and date of birth. The NTA JEE Mains 2023 admit card is required to be taken to the exam center along with a valid photo ID proof.

How to download the JEE Main 2023 Admit Card?

  • Visit the NTA JEE Main 2023 official website – jeemain.nta.nic.in
  • Click on the download JEE Main hall ticket link.
  • Enter application number and date of birth in the login window.
  • The admit card of JEE Main 2023 will appear on the screen.
  • Preview and download the JEE Main 2023 hall ticket and take a printout for future use.
